Zuiker has not had a direct presence in day-to-day operations on ‘CSI’ for about five years, instead working on other projects and spin-off shows. According to Vulture, CBS executives and ‘CSI’ showrunner Carol Mendelsohn wanted to bring Zuiker back to the mothership show for an injection of bizarre stories that made the show watercooler material in its earlier seasons.

An upcoming episode of the show will feature a werewolf/vampire convention.

• Weezer’s new album ‘Hurley’ will feature a photo of ‘Lost’ star Jorge Garcia on the cover. Garcia played the lovable Hurley on the hit ABC show. Check out the full cover and the story behind it on Spinner.

• Wayne Brady is heading back to ‘How I Met Your Mother.’
The host of ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ is reprising his role of James, Barney’s brother. Look for Ben Vereen to play Brady’s father. According to TV Guide Magazine, the duo will appear in the second episode of this upcoming season.

• Megan Boone has joined the cast of ‘Law and Order: Los Angeles.’ Boone, who had a part in ‘Sex and the City 2,’ will play an ADA. According to Deadline Hollywood, Boone’s character will be the ADA under Terrence Howard’s DDA.

• ‘Golden Girls’ is getting a 25th anniversary DVD set. ‘The Golden Girls: 25th Anniversary Complete Collection’ will feature all seven seasons of the show in a package designed to look like Sophia’s purse. According, the set will hit the streets Nov. 9. The set won’t include any additional special features besides what was included on the individual season releases.

• Jason Bateman wants Jennifer Aniston to be in the ‘Arrested Development’ movie.
Yes, you read that right. Bateman and Aniston star together in the upcoming film ‘The Switch,’ and both talked to MTV about their interest in getting Aniston a role in the film. “Yeah, actually, there’s a real good part for her in the ‘Arrested Development’ movie,” Bateman told MTV. “There’s no offers on this one. She’s gonna have to sing for her supper. I don’t know, we’ll see if she’s available. She’s busy. She’s pretty famous; I don’t know if you’ve heard of her. She’s pretty backed up. Hopefully the guy who’s in charge will like her for that part because I’m going to suggest her.”
